Shaker Woods Park was initially created in 1981 as a joint venture between local citizens and the county government. Initially, the goal was to develop a recreational area accessible to all, regardless of age or ability level. The park currently consists of 123 acres of woodland, a 1-mile-long meandering network of trails, and various amenities for visitors to explore and enjoy.
